I've been so immersed creating new content  for my Twitch account (website, Steam group & social media) and updating my page (graphics, chat bots and chat commands - I have over 100 and counting ) and backstage content (such as OBS layouts and integrations with Kappamon and StreamMinions), that I've been neglecting my DA account.

Although, honestly, most of the time I feel like creating new content now is when I can't, for example when I'm at work or outside the house, and when I'm actually home I can't remember what it was I wanted to do. Except for maybe a few extra lil badges. I'm not quite done with those.

On another note, I'd like to ask you guys opinion on this Twitch situation and this irl problem I have at the moment. What would you guys do if you were in my shoes?

     

   

So, even though it's no longer Spring, and we don't really have this whole "Spring cleaning" culture in my country, I have decided to do an overall cleaning, on several levels:

 Room dusting: My depression seems to currently be in check. _{(Haven't felt miserable in at least a couple months now, yay!)} Still, my dysthymia seems to act as a normal brake for my ADHD: whenever I'm depressed, it drains away all my physical _{(and, of course, mental)} energy, and I no longer feel the rushes of ADHD adrenaline, no longer have motor ticks or a million random thoughts happening at the same time. When the dysthymia starts getting better _{(and no, I'm not medicated for any of these mental health conditions, sadly)}, I get all my energy back, with a little bonus from my hyperactive traits but then... I still need to face the long times of procrastination that can come with it. So, for one reason or another, I think I probably haven't dusted my room in about a month now. Maybe even more. I just keep delaying it: next week, next week, next week. So, this week for sure, I need to get it done, before weekend comes, because I'll need it for the other cleanings...

 DA cleaning: I've had so many periods of hiatus during the 10 years I've been here, that I feel like I can no longer keep up. I've caught up with all the notes, correspondence items, comments, replies, activity notifications and mentions, polls, forum entries, hot topics and bulletins. I've caught up with about 90% journal entries. But I can't, for the life of me, keep up with the art deviations, being from people I watch or groups I'm following. So I decided to clean my groups and people I watch. I'll start by removing people who deactivated their accounts or moved into new ones. Then, I'll check if the groups I follow are still active or not. And finally, I may either have to unfollow some people or change the notifications I get for them. When you suffer from anxiety, it's not a good thing to have deviations pilling to the point that you get thousands in a few days and delete all of them, only to have thousands not many days later. So I'll try to be more selective with whom I'm following. Also because I wish to be more active for those people. I'm trying to be a lot more active on the social activities of DA and I've been replying to journals, status, polls. But I also want to actually check the art pieces that those people are posting, and maybe even comment on a few.

 Desktop cleaning and backup: My old laptop is yet again threatening to stop working. I'm had more than enough of this toaster, so I went online and ordered all the components that I will need to build my very first gaming PC. So, until then, I need to grab my 1TB external drive _{(once I remember what I put it)} and update my backup. All the files I have on this laptop will need to be copied into the external disc, so that I can later on move a selected few of them into my new computer after it's already up and running. Hopefully, I will have all the computers in 1-2 weeks, they'll all be working properly upon arrival, and I won't burn the house down when connecting the computer to power for the first time.

It's been a while since I was last active on DA. It was not the first time I took a long (from several months to a couple years) hiatus from DA, due to both major chronic depression and/or family issues, but this time it was more than that: it was also the fact that I finally got a job (3 years after I graduated from college, it was about time!) and was too busy enjoying the little free time I have now, either watching livestreams on Twitch or playing video games.

I did upload some pixels that I created sporadically but, other than that (and some mods for Stardew Valley) I haven't created any new content. I may create a few new resources eventually, since I was pleasantly surprised to find some requests among the hundreds of messages I had to catch up with. I am also surprised with the amount of notifications I get, on a daily basis, of people faving my artwork or watching me (or simply giving me a llama <3). I no longer have the time to thank each and every person like I used to (and some people don't even like when you do that), but I watch those notifications a few times per week at work and it's one of those little things that puts a smile on my face and helps make my day better - knowing that there are people out there that like my work. Thank you!

I may or may not create other new content besides that. Truth is lately I feel like just playing video games other than doing something in pixel art. I simply don't have random ideas of things I want to work on pop-up anymore like I used to. But I sill enjoy pixel art when I do it. I also finally moved from MS Paint to Aseprite (thank you kind Steam donator!) and can now have proper transparent backgrounds and animate my creations without needing any extra programs, which does make things a lot easier. We'll see how it goes.

I noticed that I left most of the commissions opened this whole time I was absent - I usually don't plan any of my DA hiatus, they just sort of happen because my depression takes over and I start lacking the energy and the motivation to log into the website altogether. As a result, I ended up forgetting to Close the commissions before I left but, thankfully, I'm not that famous on DA and no one commissioned anything that I know of, so it wasn't much of an issue. Still, I hope I remember to turn them of next time. I may leave them open for now. If I start getting too many request and can't catch up with everything I may get a bit overwhelmed and closed them until I can catch my breath but, again, I'm not that popular around here so I think the chances of something of the sorts happening are quite low.

I'm really pleased to see that now we can not only use thumbnails on journals, but also on comments, and that we can even embed youtube videos on the journals. None of that was possible back before I left - only for Premium people. I need to see what else has changed around DA in the meantime. And maybe get a new journal layout if I find the time to come up with something new.

I am also glad I came back to DA just in time to still catch the whole Pride Month event thingy. From what I could tell, most people from the DA community seem to be at least open minded and accepting of other people's realities.

Note to self: after I'm done catching up with the requests, I can also start working on some LilBadges.
